What is Tibetan Pulsing Yoga? (Continued)

Pulsing

The form of touch employed in Tibetan Pulsing is unique, since it is not merely a method of 'pressing' a point, and nor can it really be described as acupressure, healing or massage, as it has its own characteristics. HeartIn Tibetan Pulsing - uniquely - the pulsebeat of the heart is specifically used as the motor of transformation, since this is a profound form of energy that people can share with each other.

To practise it, therefore, points are touched in such a way as to connect the pulsebeat in one person's body (often the fingers are used, but not exclusively) with the pulsebeat in the point being pressed. This method is not the same as that used in any other form of 'acupressure' and hence it has been given its own unique name - 'pulsing': to 'pulse' means to touch specific combinations of points in this way, as taught on Tibetan Pulsing Yoga courses.

With practice, this technique is also further deepened and intensified through attunement of the Third Eye and a deep state of meditation and focus of the kundalini energy onto the points of contact during sessions, bringing about - at its best, and usually after much practice - a possibility for the most profound possible 'meeting of souls' that two people can ever experience, since in my view and experience there is no more profound way for two or more people to meet and commune with each other. It is ultimately so much more rewarding than the normal everyday superficial contact of talking which fills our lives that it opens up a whole new world of possibilities for relating to other people in a more authentic, satisfying and profound manner.

Dheeraj has described the pulsing technique as follows:

"The job of Tibetan Pulsing Yoga is to dissolve the shocks which manifest as blockages to the electrical flow in our nervous system through meditation and relaxation. This is a specific form of bodywork, applying pressure to different points, that are in direct contact with the nervous system. The gentle but continuous pressure and the connection between those points transport the magnetic pulsebeat of the heart to the affected areas and they start pulsating. The pulsebeat has the natural tendency to fall in synchronicity with the pulse of other hearts. The electrical harmony that results from the active pulsing on different points allows the melting of the blockage and an inner transformation can occur."
